Where's a robin when you need one?

Had to sew rings on the new trip-mat to stop it from moving.
Thought that these bobbins would make an interesting photo.
Can't really decide which is my favourite.
Wonder if I'll keep this thread going at all ...

Here's looking at you, kid

Unfortunately forgot to check the height.
Lowest I've experienced this year. Caught it just right by pure chance. Monday's was a 0.4m so I guess it's around that. I'll keep watch for a 0.1m (which I've seen) or less.

Hypericum on the wall

Two more shots at the super macro setting on beautifully glorious weekend in sunny Ardrossan.

Do you like butter?

We used to do this when we were small.
I don't know what the point of it was, but it did
involve a buttercup.

Longcraigs Fossil!

Is this a fossil?

It'll make a unique key ring, anyway.

WBW May Weekend

X marks the spot.
Buried treasure lies beneath!

Watching over the spheres of granite,
no doubt in case they roll away!

Easter Sunday walk

A very fine Easter Sunday promenade.

Strange encounters with furry friends in Barrie Terrace.

Beach ball reminiscent of The Prisoner.

A different Vista

No doubt this is a different Vista than Bill intended.Found out I was just as effective as King Canute against the waves. Next time I'll wear waders!

Put it on my slate

Pics tomorrow, possibly. New slate naming process a success, but not for the bit, or maybe the router.

Impressed with the clean lines that tungsten carbide gives, but probably better when smaller and finer passes used.

Also possible WBW.

Early Easter

All in a spin to find a Chopper when dining out at the Hydro Carvery. Very good value, and delicious, BTW.

Today's WBW

It's amazing what you can find washed up on the beach. I take it that this applies to a specific location rather than the whole of the F.O.C.

Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond today. Must remember those ISO settings! Now reduced to ISO 100 and maxed out on f-stop at 7.1 - 8.0. First time I've noticed the gauge at the side of the viewfinder. Suppose I should really read all of the instructions - can't be bothered as they are on pdf. Who has their computer with them all of the time? Can iPhones display pdfs? Must get one ... ha ha.

Snowplough

The snow really did come.
Here's a photo of a tractor snowplough in action.

Snow

Snowing this afternoon, and much more dismal than yesterday. Am I expecting too much of the Canon zoom with 12x? What difference would the 20x make, if any? May not find out anytime soon ...

February Holiday

A week off! Still very cold today. Arran looked magnificent in its sun-kissed dressing of snow. If this keeps up, then there may be a chance of some good shots over the weekend.

Islay and Jura were also snow-covered earlier this week.

Walk on Saturday 31 January

Here are some pictures from Saturday's walk. I am still testing the Canon S51S. I am impressed by the optical zoom, which is 12x, although I hear that the latest model has 20x. It wasn't a very nice day for photographs. I think digital cameras always do much better when the sun is shining.

I will now try and upload a video of some windmills.

This is a test of this Blogging software.

I have managed to set it up and be online in five minutes.

Here is a photo of the weather outside my window today.
